We've never been partial to the Panoz Esperante, looks wise. It could be the inelegant collection of shapes and slices that protrude from its classic sports-car shape, like a fanny pack and sun visor on Michangelo's David. There's probably a classy design somewhere in all those wasted motions, but to find it would require more crowbar and wet-sanding work than we'd consider appropriate on a $100,000 roadster. Would we want to take the awkwardly belettered, but high-performance Esperante GTLM out on track day, to test out all of its Ford SVT-powered regard for itself? Of damn course, but we're no Motor Trend.
