This is something you’d see happen to, like, Wile E. Coyote or something. Except the tree would say “Acme” on it. And it would happen in Arizona, not North Carolina.
Sonny Dixon was driving along sweet West Sugar Creek Road on Sunday when it got really stormy, reports The Charlotte Observer.
“Couldn’t see the highway. Couldn’t see any places you could pull over and park until the rain slowed up. Couldn’t see anything,” he told the publication.
And then, out of freaking nowhere, a huge goddamn tree fell on top of his car, leaving him pinned. It actually did hit his head on the way down and caused bleeding.
“I just didn’t know what was going on with all the glass coming from everywhere. I looked around like this and there was a tree right behind my head,” he said to the Observer. “Blood was coming from everywhere, and I didn’t know how I was gonna get out of this car and I just started praying.”
Nearby, people saw the crushed Corvette and first responders were able to remove Dixon from the car. He had no broken bones and only needed 22 stitches on his head.
Apparently, he isn’t terribly concerned about the Corvette, either, as he has 15 other cars and eight lives left.
“His family thinks the roll bar on the car may have kept the tree just high enough to save Dixon’s life,” wrote the Observer. Dixon, meanwhile, credited “God for being with him in that Corvette.”
Who knew God was a Corvette guy?
(H/t to Darwin!)
