What appear to be three very stupid criminals shot and killed a man three weeks ago in suburban Toronto, but not before slowly driving past five neighborhood security cameras. Can you help the police identify the car?

The homicide is particularly tragic. The victim was 38-year-old Surenthira Vaithlingam, who was just laying some bricks for his backyard in preparation for his son's upcoming birthday party when he was shot.

Toronto PD recently released surveillance footage from neighbors' homes, showing the car driving slowly through the neighborhood, possibly scouting out home of Vaithlingam, reports CBC News.

The police believe the car to be a 1999-2003 Mazda Protege. I agree with that assessment, but can you help them narrow down the model year of this car?

Here are the five surveillance clips released by the police.
