One of the most famous kits of the hobby's golden age in the 1960s was Monogram's "Big T" 1/8 scale model. The original car was built by legendary rodding and customizing legend Darryl Starbird and was shown around the country until it was ultimately given away as the grand prize in a modeling competition. The car having seemingly vanished into the ether, Starbird's decided to give it another go, re-creating the Big T along with a similar car to be used in a Clear Channel promotion.
