DCX boss J rgen Schrempp, faced down a snaggle-toothed gang of pissed-off shareholders, who blame the CEO for poor earnings and a stock-price plunge since the merger of Daimler-Benz and Chrysler in 1998. In the end, the torch-wielding mob stopped short of a "no confidence" vote that would have symbolically begun the end of Schrempp's tenure, but did fill their pockets with lobster salad for the ride home.
