PowerPoint presentations will go dark throughout DaimlerChrysler's offices, as around 6,000 of DaimlerChrysler's white-collar staffers are given a one-way tour of the exits — with 1,500 cut from the company's US sales office in New Jersey. Chrysler's Auburn Hills execs will be largely spared in the reorganization carnage, which will result from the company decentralizing some corporate responsibilities out to DCX's Chrysler and Mercedes-Benz divisions. The hardest hit workers will be in accounting, auditing, personnel and strategic planning — a total 30 percent of management personnel.
