A 34-year-old man attempted to commit suicide by opening the door of a Continental passenger jet traveling from Houston to Chicago. Having been on that same flight numerous times we can't relate. The Southwest flight is much worse. Midway, ugh.
Can you even open the door when the plane is at altitude and the cabin is pressurized? I'd think that the door latch is just a formality at that point and what's really holding the door in place is the higher-than-ambient internal pressure inside the plane.
I could be wrong though
