Commenter Of The Day: S. G. Tallentyre Edition

S.G. Tallentyre was the nom de plume for the English writer Evelyn Beatrice Hall, famous for her writing about French philosopher Voltaire. Her landmark work, "The Friends Of Voltaire," is considered one of the most important works about Voltaire. Rather than a traditional biography, the work takes a more anecdotical form and follows the stories of ten friends and associates of the writer. In one story, Hall tells the account of Voltaire defending the book a friend wrote (one Voltaire didn't particularly like) and she writes: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." This is incorrectly attributed to Voltaire, though it is a correct expression of his viewpoint. Today, we heard from Erin Burnett on the car industry, and then we heard from Engineerd. We don't agree with his viewpoint, but we love a good Captain Planet ref.

"Go Government!"

"By your powers combined, I am Captain Government!"

Captain Government, he's our hero
Gonna take car sales down to zero

He's our powers magnified
And he's fighting on the Government's side

Captain Government, he's our hero
Gonna take car sales down to zero

Gonna help his power misuse
Bad guys who like to profit and produce

"You'll pay for this Captain Government!"

We're the Governmenteers
You can be one too
'Cause growing our Government is the thing to do!

Profiting and producing is not the way
Hear what Captain Government has to say!

"The Power is Yours!"

Yes, because the automakers were profiting so much before...
