Commenter Of The Day: Roger McDowell Edition

Pitcher Roger McDowell has been called "the greatest prankster to step on the diamond" by Sports Illustrated and we can't help but agree. He's infamous for pulling off the old "hotfoot" technique of wrapping a cigarette in gum, attaching it to someone's heel, and then lighting it up without anyone noticing. He'd often wear ridiculous outfits in the dugout and could back up his humor with excellent clutch pitching. You may also know him as the "second spitter" from the Seinfeld episode where Newman and Kramer are convinced Keith Hernandez spit on them. This has nothing to do with the Harrods supercar parkers, but it does explain the origin of TheSecondSpitter's name lest you wonder who this strange person winning COTD is — it's clearly the Roger McDowell.

"Hey, our cars got booted outside"

"Oh well. Mine had like 200 miles on it already. Let's go buy new ones!"

That's a great episode. If Keith Hernandez asks you to help him move, you help him move. End of story.
