We love Network, Paddy Chayefksy's famous critique of television, network news and media consumerism. You'd think we'd have learned something from it by now. But we haven't. Like all nerds, we also love his diatribe:
'I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!' I want you to get up right now, sit up, go to your windows, open them and stick your head out and yell - 'I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!' Things have got to change. But first, you've gotta get mad!... You've got to say, 'I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!' Then we'll figure out what to do about the depression and the inflation and the oil crisis. But first get up out of your chairs, open the window, stick your head out, and yell, and say it...
Well, we found someone to say it. He's mad as hell. And he's mad at all of you.
With all the Project Car Hell posts Murille does, it's kind of a surprise this hasn't happened before, but one owner (the owner of that awesome Dodge Neon) has decided that our remarks, and specifically the remarks of our commentators, were not that funny. And now Styl0 has challenged all of you to defend your mechanical skills:
I love how you idiots sit online, and bash other peoples projects, thanks for giving MY Neon that much attention, it's kinda cute, the Check engine light problem, was because of an EGR Block off plate kit, and with New Yorks nice little law, anything 96+ can't have ANY check engine codes kicked, and because of the block off kit, it had 3. The car was being built from the ground up for a replacement to my 383 stroker S10, it was something cheap on gas, and easier to maintain than a huge ass v8.
And I honestly don't see any of you taking on a project car to make it street-legal, I see so far, people hacking up cars, putting in a roll cage, and stiffening a suspension, not really hard.
But I do find it cute that you have nothing better to do than sit on here bashing street-legal project cars, why? Because we aren't entering ours in LeMons? Come on guy/girls, unless you know EVERY detail of why someones selling a car, keep your little fingers off the keys of a keyboard, and cut the bashing bullshit, it gets REALLY old, REALLY fast.
"OH LOOKIT ME LOOKIT ME LOLOL OMG CHECK ENGINEZ LYTEZ LOLOLOLOL OMG R DEY AUTHENTIC BOOGAZ?! LOL SHIFTA BOOSHINZ ADD HURSE POWA" that's how you twits come off to me.
I know what shifter bushings do, I also wanted smoother shifts in my car instead of having problems getting the car into gears because the factory POS bushings are shot to hell and back, so I called Jeff Ball and got a set of bushings, it's not something that's complicated to explain, it's just aggravating when idiots like you sit online and bash someone elses project car, and say something about me having a Neon for a project car, go ahead, I really don't care, it was my choice to buy it, it was my choice to fix what was wrong with it, it was my choice to waste the money on it.
And as for your "give a guy a wrench and he thinks he's a mechanic" comment I saw above, I THINK I'm a mechanic? There's no thinking involved, bud, I tore that car down to the bare shell, and put it back together, I think I know more than the average Joe Blow. Any further retarded bashing attempts on an old project of mine? Email me about it, instead of doing it some place that you don't think I'm going to see it at.
. That's it you jerks. He's taking his ball Neon and going home.
