According to a "Quick Vote" poll on CNN.com today, approximately 23% of people who read the website and vote on these kinds of things would like to live on the moon. Approximately 18,000 people think this is a good idea. In general, we like the idea of space travel and lounging on a distant plant. However, the moon is a less-than-deal place where you'd have to import almost everything you'd need to survive. It's like Hawaii without the beautiful ocean or hula dancers. Ignoring the violent temperature swings (try packing for for +250 Fahrenheit and -328 Fahrenheit temps), the cost of having a toy car you won on eBay delivered would be somewhere in the billions of dollars. You wouldn't be able to visit friends or travel. You'd be a moon hermit. It's sort of like living in an armored Bentley, which PaulJones considers to be isolating.
