A.P. Giannini was the founder of the Bank of Italy, which eventually merged with and took the name of Bank of America. Unlike the modern view of crooked, unaccountable bankers interested only in making a buck and then exiting with a golden parachute, Giannini had the fervent patriotism of an immigrant's son and invested heavily in the American people. The Bank of Italy was one of the first to cater to middle class Americans as opposed to just the wealthy. After the San Francisco earthquake he made loans to people hoping to rebuild by handing over money in the middle of the street on a handshake. He financed the films of another immigrant (Frank Capra) and helped budding corporations like Hewlett-Packard and Walt Disney, as well as invested in rebuilding Fiat. To read about him is to barely believe anyone like him ever existed. Unfortunately, when the modern day Bank of America talks to Pidgeonsplatz about cars they're not quite so friendly.

Bank of America.

They call me every frickin month about the car I'm driving, just to "talk" to me about the payment due, just to "talk" to me about how far behind I am, just to "talk" to me about the the damage this will do to my credit score...

Maybe you should switch back to the Bank of Italy.
