Today we talked about the fact that Teslas are full of sensitive digital information, and so are a lot of modern cars. That’s a trend we’re going to have to get used to, and learn to live with.

Interestingly, quite a few people also commented that they had purchased used cars which still had things like home addresses programmed into navigation systems. And I’m embarrassed to admit remembering that that even comes up in an episode of Entourage.

Jeremy Piven gets the wrong Lexus from a valet... anybody? No? OK.

Anyway, protecting your info and digital footprint is only going to get harder as the line between “app” and “car” keeps blurring. For now, just make sure you read as much FinePrint as you can before accepting any terms of use. And maybe don’t import all your phone’s contacts to a loaner car!
