Comment Of The Day: Bleeding From The Jugular Edition

Today we talked about cheap tools you can take on your next adventure, and heard a few fun family camping stories from our readers. Also, one really gross camping story. Things go south when somebody catches a piece of broken hatchet to the neck.

As tlb writes;

My grandfather used to give my uncles a cheap, gag-type gift every Christmas. One year, it was “the tool that won the west,” which was basically a hatchet with a hammer and pry bar built in. Later that year during a large family vacation one uncle was using “the tool that won the west” to chop firewood when a piece of the metal broke off and nicked his jugular. Needless to say it was a scary, disgusting scene and the last time “the tool that won the west” was used by anyone in the family.

Maybe sometimes it is worth investing in quality equipment.

Congratulations on winning the comment of the day, tlb. And enjoy Huey Lewis And The News’ undisputed masterpiece; Hip To Be Square. A song so catchy, most people probably don’t listen to the words. But they should ecause it’s not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of friends. It’s also a personal statement about the band itself!
