As if 1960s Dodge Charger loyalists had enough fodder for their missives, Dodge announced it would further besmirch the Charger name, creating a new, limited-edition "Daytona R/T" version of its 2006 Charger. Dodge will also bring back its late-1960s paint names, Go ManGo! orange (get it?) and Top Banana yellow (No plans to bring back Grabber Green and Plum Crazy purple have been announced.)
The 2006 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T will offer a five-speed automatic transmission with AutoStick (no manual) and the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine with 350 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque — ten more horses than the previous 5.7-liter Hemi, but still a ways off of the 425hp of the Chrysler 300C SRT-8's 6.1-liter mill, and a really long way from its true anteceedent. This is what we've been waiting for, folks. Try to enjoy it.
