We're so provincial and lame, we didn't even know there were such things as the 2005 Cannes Media Lion advertising awards. Still, we had read recently that Oprah won one for her Pontiac G6 giveaway and sales-tax boondoggle. Three carmakers won Titanium awards (which include both traditional advertising media and non-traditional channels): Honda, for its Grrr campaign (UK); Mini for "Counterfeit" (US); and Volvo, for "Life on board project" (the Netherlands). The German Car Blog reports on an article in Auto Motor und Sport that highlights some of VW's (pictured) and Audi's winnners.
