Cannonball Cars Confiscated in France

Such is the price of trans-continental hoonage these days, we suppose. Two entrants in the Cannonball Run Europe, Gerald Harrison, 27, of Glasgow, and Marc Sharifi, 47, of Ongar, Essex — whose fortunes were made in real estate, were nabbed by the gendarmes on the autoroute for running over 150mph. The sentence? Two days in whatever the modern, local version of the Bastille is, a 750-pound fine, and oh, their cars were taken away and will apparently be auctioned off. Harrison lost a 360, while Sharifi forfeited his Ruf-modified Porsche. D'oh.
