Soon you'll be able to buy a 1.6-liter BMW 3 series in China. That made me wonder if there's a bigger car with an even smaller engine.
Lo and behold, that wonderful land to the East, the greener grass on the other side us Americans call "Europe" is full of big cars with small engines. Gas is expensive over there (a gallon of gas can be seven or eight US dollars), taxes are high, and sometimes a 5,000-pound Audi Q5 doesn't need anything more than a 150 horsepower 2.0-liter diesel. Technically, it's 147 horsepower and 4,982 pounds with fluids.
Can you find a car on sale today with a worse power-to-weight ratio than that?
