It turns out that now, in 2014, people still call in to news shows and can just get on the air simply by claiming to be a soldier. That's what this prankster did today on MSNBC's The Cycle, claiming Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was taken down by a missile fired "from Howard Stern's ass."

Also surprising in 2014: that people still listen to Howard Stern. A curious development, that.

Anyway, a man who said his name was Staff Sgt. Michael Boyd called in to MSNBC's Krystal Ball this afternoon claiming he was at the U.S. embassy in Ukraine, and was an eyewitness to a missile strike that downed the aircraft.

Then he said he saw a projectile flying through the sky, "and it would appear the plane was shot down by a blast of wind from Howard Stern's ass."

Undaunted, and perhaps feeling she didn't hear him clearly, Ball pressed on about his military expertise, at which point the caller called her "a dumbass."
