California Highway Closed Due To Road Rage

Out in the charming, meth-lab-studded landscape near the Los Angeles-Riverside County line, drivers don't like to be slowed down by road construction. In fact, they hate roadwork so much that they've been threatening and assaulting the construction crews attempting to widen State Highway 138 (the road, aptly dubbed "Blood Alley," has seen 68 deaths in the last five years). In response, CalTrans has decreed that no traffic will be permitted on the 138 until construction is complete. I've taken a break from the Road Rage Roundup series, because researching it was making me depressed, but made a semi-exception for this story. [Yahoo News]
