The University of California, like us, moved away from the Central Valley for a better life. Okay, we're totally lying now, and the joke's old. Let's just get this straight: we've never been big fans of the University of California at Berkeley, even if our dear ol' dad is a graduate. Still, we think this program's pretty cool. The Cal Formula SAE Club has spent the last couple of years designing and building a formula car for this year s Formula SAE Competition of North America, to start May 18th in Pontiac, MI. As the reporter who wrote the story we're pulling from obviously doesn't know a helluva lot about cars ("intake orifice"? Hilarious!), we can't give you a displacement number (or even a cylinder count), but we do know the thing's turbocharged and pumps out 90hp. It'll compete in autocross, endurance, acceleration and skidpad competitions against teams from all over the continent. Supposedly, Cal's car is the most powerful. Let's see if their con rod(s) can hold up.
