But Is The Alfa Romeo 4C As Good As The Cayman Or The FR-S/BRZ?

If you're like me, you're crossing out the days on your calendar until the Alfa Romeo 4C comes to America. It's the 21st century Ferrari Dino we've all been dreaming about. But how can it handle its rivals on a track?

In this new video from Autocar, Steve Sutcliffe puts the 4C on a track to see what it can really do. His verdict? More initial understeer than he expected, as well as turbo lag and steering that's accurate but lacks feel (which is surprising because the 4C has no power steering.) That's a bit disappointing.

For comparison purposes he brings along a Porsche Cayman, the current benchmark for mid-engine cars at this price tag, and the Toyota GT86, the vastly more affordable sports car That Will Save Us All. The Toyota's so good that Steve seems jealous when he's behind it in the Alfa. It makes a very strong case for itself here.

But the 4C's real competition is the Cayman. Which one comes out on top? Watch the video to find out.
