Although the news story yesterday of Honda looking to expand its manufacturing presence in the US was short on details โ€” they've rectified that problem. The automaker added some more meat to the release and said today they are just a wee-bit away from selecting a Midwestern site for a planned $400 million, 1,300 job assembly plant. This is part of Honda's overall strategy to expand sales in the US to 1.76 million cars sold. The plant's expected to be producing hybrids (maybe even a hybrid version of the Fit or CR-V) โ€” which is good, cause even with gas prices as high as they are now, Honda's only sold a not-so-fit 666 Insights this past year. If that isn't a sign of the apocalypse, we dunno what is.
