Ok, seriously — three "Breaking!" stories on GM's enough — let's start spacing these bad boys out at the RenCen, k? Anyway — GM's started the process of hiring non-union workers at several stateside plants, replacing union workers leaving due to those early retirement packages the General announced earlier this year. Ya know, the one thing that makes us all feel like there might be some light at the end of the tunnel of this whole GM/Delphi/UAW thing is that if an article with a headline of "GM Hiring Temporary Employees as Union Workers Leave" was in a newspaper 10 years ago, there'd be a strike before it hit the newsstands. Now, it's a shrug of the shoulders and a "Meh, that's business" reply — and that's from the union rank and file!
