Robert Bosch Corporation, apparently the Starbucks of fuel injector makers, has produced its one billionth fuel injector for gasoline engines. (The real question is, How many gallons of gas sprayed?) Bosch, a pioneer of fuelie development, makes upward of 80 million fuel injectors per year, the 1990 allotment of which likely went primarily toward repeated replacements of the unit on our 1988 VW Fox. Not that Bosch's product was faulty — blame it on our inflated notion of our own talents. [Thanks RF]
