With so much talk of the 2006 V8-powered M3 clogging the enthusiast channels these days, BMW is taking evasive action to prevent sales from sliding on 2005 models. The company is offering a handling package for 2005 models, a $4,000 option that will include 19 wheels, stiffer suspension and a shorter steering ratio as well as some tweaks to the stability control system. Production on the Competition package offering begins this December. We'd hold out for the V8, but what do we know.
