BMW went from supplier to team owner yesterday, when it aggreed to acquire a majority share in the Swiss Sauber team, leaving the Williams team — to which it supplies engines — holding a giant, steaming bag of, well you know.
The company will manage the team starting next year, and will retain Sauber's factory in Hinwil, Switzerland and the 300 staff there, before it throws open its bag of corporate gold and pours it into the operation. We can't wait. And what of the Williams team? No comment.
