The BMW M3 GTS has a great engine and amazing chassis dynamics, the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black has a wickedly charismatic V8 and quick-acting autobox. Both are lighter than their downmarket counterparts and sport huge premium price tags. But can they compete with the Porsche GT3 RS 4.0 on road and track?
As Chris Harris notes in this week's CHoC video, all three are candidates to be driven (at least from the UK) to the Nürburgring for a few hot laps, then driven back. Road car gives way to race car — no spinal damage presented.
But is it fair to compare the BMW and Merc to the Porsche, which is obviously the sharpest tool in the shed? Is the more pressing question, how well can the three coupes "smash their rear tires to bits?" Never mind the questions. Just watch.
