Traffic sucks, so why not start your morning off with some music? You provide the toast and we'll provide the jams.
There are, at least, two versions of the British rock band Blur. There's the Brit Pop "Parklife" era of music that was a hit with the Island's youth and is, while very listenable, not particularly exciting. And then there's the heavier, rockier self-titled "Blur" era. Apparently, guitarist Graham Coxon fell in love with American indie rock and foisted the idea of playing it onto his bandmates.
The result is surprise hit "Song 2," which led the band to its greatest international success. I've read in various places that the song itself is a tribute to Pavement's Bob Nastanovich, whose job in the band is mostly to scream on various songs. Listen to "Cut Your Hair" next and you can hear a similar format.
Also, it's a great song, even if my father is convinced they stole the hook from Tommy Bolin.
