This year's Gumball 3000 race — from London to Monaco, by way of Hungary — kicked off this past Saturday. This year's run is marked by a 100% uptick in participant blogging over last year's race. Those who thought the Gumball had nothing to offer armchair spectators should check out some of the sites posting race updates and photos. To paraphrase Alex Roy, Jalopnik contributor and Gumball 3000 participant, such coverage answers a question we didn't think needed answering, that is, Do we care how fast a bunch of rich guys (and gals) can get from Austria to Prague in their souped-up M5s? Turns out, we pretty much do.
