Your mother told you never to look directly at the sun, especially during an eclipse. A 26-year-old San Francisco Bay Area woman, who didn't heed mom's advice, says eyeballing the recent solar eclipse caused her to mow down two pedestrians.
The victims were treated for minor injuries — a 40-year-old woman for bruises and her 10-year-old daughter for a broken arm. The driver, who managed not to get any tickets, says she was temporarily blinded, but a police spokesperson says her "that's where the fun is" defense probably won't hold up under scrutiny.
