Back in the 1970s, the beloved Dodge Charger nameplate meant something different to car nuts in Brazil than to those in the states. US gearheads would have lost their Snap Ons if they knew it was the the US-spec 1969 Dodge Dart being passed off as a Dodge "Charger" throughout the 1970s in the Brazilian market. Even still, the "Charger" R/T became the fastest car produced in Brazil at the time, and a hit rivaling "Girl from Ipanema."
