If the city of Berkeley, CA adopts a plan put forth by officials, buyers of hybrid cars may get free parking. The city is mulling a plan to provide one-hour blocks of free parking anywhere in the city, where drivers are more likely to find a pork rind than a parking space, for one or two years to those who buy hybrid-drive cars or trucks. While city officials pledged to reduce Berkeley's impact on global warming by 15 percent by 2010, they have yet to address the impact of high numbers of fairly obvious jokes, mainly regarding henna tatoos and vegan burritos, on city residents.
