We write about a great Saab achievement, and what happens? Minutes later, The General makes a tentative deal with a Chinese car manufacturer to build two Saab models in the Middle Kingdom!
The deal isn't a complete buyout of Saab from General Motors, but 3,500 Saab workers in Trollhattan are probably pouring themselves fortifying shots of akvavit right about now. Possible silver lining: Beijing Automotive Industry Holding brings back the Saab 95.

I've been following the Saab saga for a while, and I must say, I don't think this is the "end of Saab" news that you think it is. I think BAIC is simply just producing older Saabs for the Chinese market in the same way that they make old Peugeots for Africa, or Beetles for Mexico.
