With so many rods built up from aftermarket pieces today, and even though a number of said rods are very cool, it's especially wonderful to run across a documented survivor. David Martin's '31 A is just that; run on the lakes, run with a SOHC Riley/Ford mill, run with a flathead and now featuring Chevy small block power (hey, we all get old at some point), Martin's Dayton-bewheeled rod is really pretty Mary-Poppins-fresh. That is to say, it's practically perfect in every way.
