It seems that a huge number of salespeople are nomadic. I have tried to track down many (as witnesses in lawsuits) and they almost are never working at the same dealer when I find them. Often, they are just a few doors down the same street. Read more

All of my Explorers have had truck frames under them. And the only issue I’ve had with any one of them was the Firestone/Bridgestone boondoggle. Got me a brand new set of 4 tires for free - just as I needed to replace the old set. BINGO! It was like I was being rewarded for being a repeat customer. Read more

I was one of two people contributing to this decision (I was out-voted). I took the car for service to anywhere but the leasing dealer. And if I had ever gotten another Chevy (Which I never have) I would have gone elsewhere. This dealership was a cesspool of scumbaggery. Read more

If you read between the lines: I am not a GM employee. I was only 1/2 of the purchase making decision and I was out-voted. I tried that argument but the other party thought $75 was not enough to go buy the car ten miles away.

I SUSPECT that they know most people will buy the Proof and then never pay again. In exchange, they probably deny 99% of all valid claims sent their way but stay in business by lobbying the right people in each state’s capital.

There are people who will return because of the good experience. And tell their friends. Like I said, the guy I bought the explorers from - he got my business, that of my friends and relatives, and I bet he has other customers who do the same. Read more
