Yep, they all have the clutch safety switch “preventing” a first gear start lurch. A lot of people just end up bypassing it. Read more

I did do some brief testing on the old parts (voltage checking), and they tested OK. And that’s one of the biggest problem with electrical switches. Under certain conditions (heat, moisture level, etc.) they will work. And then once they leave those optimal conditions, they don’t work. Read more

This is the exact reason why I never intend to re-buy a car that I have previously owned. When I put a vehicle up for sale, I know full well that when that title is signed over, it will more than likely not receive the care and attention it once had. Nothing I can do about. Excellent points! I’ve always been someone who has thought “4WD or nothing,” but now that I have a 2WD, I somewhat enjoy the simplified drivetrain. The steering feels a lot more precise than the 4WDs I’ve driven as well. Oh, and unloaded, I’ve already seen 19-20 MPG at 70 mph. I find that simply amazing. Read more
