I liked his answer on why he chose a career in racing instead of ice hockey "I have decided to do motorsports because I don't have to get up there so early in the morning". Like most of his interviews, it was partially intended to irritate the reporter into just leaving him alone and was partly total truth. Read more

Sorry for posting so ungodly late on this, but an explanation - those 900-1200 HP F1 cars were when they could run the boost to 5+ bar, and you had cars that could get 1100-1200 hp in qualifying trim.. In '87, they limited boost to 4 bar, and for 88, they limited it to 2.5 bar (in the futile hope of making the 3.5NA… Read more

I've been very lucky to have met him and seen almost all of his cars (Splash included) in one place at one time. I was a huge fan of his work before, and the visit to his garage left me with a sense of amazement. Not only does no one do what he does better, no one does what he does. Read more

What first comes to mind for me is the BMW M3's mirros, because I heard from someone on the ALMS team at Lime Rock in 2009 or '10 that they made a design change to the mirrors to accommodate the drivers' handling preference. Apparently they had a discernible affect on the aerodynamic performance.

This might help him stay awake.

The Isdera Commendatore 112i. The wing mirror migrated to the roof.

Huayra! I don't know source where Pagani get inspiration for them, but definitely Ferrari take them from Pagani.

Ferrari got their wind tunnel fixed.

Arduino to OBDII hack would be fun project to have headlights reflect the natural state of the vehicle - like glaring eyes as it approaches a vehicle traveling too slowly. Read more

The headlights give me ... ennui. Even if you should give me the car for free, I'd want them to look different ... e.g. like this

Fixed the gif... sort of. You are welcome.

I know this is a crazy idea, but what if Honda is pulling a Civic with the NSX and are completly retooling the project behind our backs? I don't know, I just get the feeling that they had a major change mid way though and are starting from scratch, a la LFA. Read more
