I'd add the 924 to this reccomendation. Much more unloved than the 944, so they're cheaper but still have a lot of the 944s positive attributes. Plus a 924S basically has a 944 engine, so the biggest difference is the badge. Read more

The Trabant lasted a long time because it had to last a long time. If East Germans were given Mercedes W123s, or BMW 2002s instead of Trabants they would have made them last too because the people needed them in order to be mobile. Read more
