Nope. My adapter was plugged into my Maxima for about 2 years non-stop with no ill effects. The wife's Highlander is a little different, we ended up breaking the ODB-II plug mounting clips by accidentally kicking the dongle. It still works but it clunks around when you go over a bump. Read more
