Audi Clubsport Quattro Concept

Germany's AutoBild is the first to go to press with images of Audi's newest concept model, the Clubsport Quattro. It's a take on the new TT with cues taken from the Porsche 356 Speedster of old, with chopped glass, a virtually nonexistent A-pillar and a 300-hp version of the VW/Audi 2.0-liter TFSI mill, with Audi's S-Tronic (DSG) dual-clutch box trading gears. It gets its gumption from a more copious turbocharger, and it sports carbon ceramic brakes and 20" wheels of light alloy. Designers also fitted grillework last seen propped up behind home plate. Expect Audi to reveal full details, and high-res photos, soon.

Off With Your Top: Audi Reveals the new TT Roadster [internal]

@Bumblebee: I know, I know, I don't believe Audi actually build a Speedster. But it's the implication that's dangerous.

Porsche have been wasting their time with oversized and overengined people-carriers and luxury vehicles that will be driven by hemorrhoid-ridden old people, instead of creating a new generation of enthusiasts.

A Speedster model would be great for the young and idle rich or for successful young entrepeneurs, not an actual volume car, but cheap enough to tease the regular punter. But with Porsche betraying its own image, the vacuum is being filled by the brand whose regular clientele is made up of... hemorrhoid-ridden old people.

You see where I'm getting here? Audi is taking over Porsche's image, and if the guys from Zeffenhausen aren't getting their undies up their cracks, they're either crazy or blind.
