With our post, yesterday, on the possibility of fakery in the 1986 Audi Quattro "ski jump" ad, we touched off a storm of interest from Audi diehards, armchair conspiracy theorists and all of those in the high part of the bell curve. The most likely explanation for the suspicious "tow rope" seen in the original ad is that it's a safety line to prevent the car from sliding backward (Audi admits using a safety line in the new Quattro ad). Still, some readers won't be bought off. What do you think? Take our latest poll after the jump.
Sherif, one of our loyal readers, analyzed the video frame by frame, and provides ample evidence there's something down there.
The real question is, while there's less doubt that a 2005 Audi A6 4.2 could power up that jump ramp, what about the pokey, 130hp Audi 100 in the orignal ad? Tell us what you think.
