Derek Thompson of The Atlantic says trucks are so hot right now— selling at more than twice the rate of cars and essentially driving American transportation spending. He's got some great graphs, but is he right?

Apparently people in the US spend more on new and used vehicles than health care, housing, food, or clothing... and they're spending on trucks.
