We're not real big on on the East Bay town of Pleasanton in general, but it's where the Goodguys throw the West Coast Nationals every year: a great place to scope out high-dollar hot rods and the denim-shorted, braided-belt-and-polo-shirt wearin' men who own them. This year you can pop into the Pleasanton Hilton (doesn't quite have the same ring as Paris, does it?) to sit in on a roast of Andy Brizio, hot rod pioneer, t-shirt impresario, former America's Most Beautiful Roadster Winner, and father of the now-legend-in-his-own-right Roy Brizio. A paltry 35 bucks gets you in; dinner's included. August 27th's the date.
