Alfa Romeo's stunning 8C Competizione looks like it's headed for the dustbin of automotive history. The curvaceous concept will likely fall to Fiat's desire not to cannibalize sales of its Maserati Coupe, with which the Alfa would have likely shared a price point (in the sub-$100,000 range), according to Fiat CEO Herbert Demel quoted in AutoWeek. The design, he says, may be used as the basis for a smaller, cheaper car. Hmm. Smaller and cheaper could be good. Maybe we should change the headline to read, "Alfa Romeo to Build Hot, Affordable Sports Coupe." Yeah, that's better.
