Ahhh-Choo!: Porsche Cayenne to Skip a Year

Porsche's in a jam with the Cayenne SUV. Sales are slipping, and a new, slightly redesigned model is coming in 2008. Porsche's dream team has made an executive decision: No 2007 model. It's not the worst of ideas; dealers will continue to sell amassed inventory of 2006 models (a 51-day supply) until early next year, when the '08s make their debut — following an unveiling at the Detroit show, insiders say. The Cayenne Titanium S model, introduced this summer, will provide a tie-over for buyers who must have a porker now. That means no special deals, no rebates and no (well, further) losses in resale value. Pretty sneaky, Stuttgart.
