Major-league Euro VW tuner, Abt Sportsline, recently unveiled its take on the new Golf GTI at the Essen Motor Show. The company's Sportsline package includes several body mods, including tastefully rendered font, rear and side skirting, and chromed exhaust fittings. Under the car's carbon fiber hood lurks a moderately tweaked 2.0 liter four, turning 230hp, a solid 30 over the stock GTI. With the new GTI coming to the US next fall, maybe Abt will have time to get its first tuning shop in the US open. Why should small Eurobox fans in the States have only the Mini John Cooper Works package to choose from? It doesn't seem fair.
