A Ford F-250 carrying 23 people veered off the road and crashed into two huge trees Sunday evening, killing 11 passengers and injuring 12. The crash, which involved both adults and children, occurred about 100 miles southeast of San Antonio, Texas.
The person police supposed to be the driver was ejected from the vehicle, but survived. No word yet on who was responsible for packing so many people into a pickup truck and why, but putting two and two together, illegal immigration seems a likely candidate for cause.
The Goliad, Texas Sheriff's Office confirmed that the Texas Department of Public Safety is coordinating cleanup of this mass casualty incident, and suggested that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement will be involved in the crash investigation.
