A Revival of Hope for New Chevrolet Camaro?

Rumors of a new Camaro/Firebird have been the "pregnant Britney Spears" of the auto industry. Now, a new, more cost-effective rear-drive platform — possibly a variant of the Zeta or the Sigma platforms used by Cadillac — may give General Motors the business case to relaunch the abandoned sport coupes. GM Vice Chairman Bob Lutz told the Society of Automotive Engineers 2005 World Congress in Detroit the company will "take another look at high-performance rear-wheel drive." A revival of T-tops is another matter.
