I keep complaining about the bands I loved in high school going soft. The very bands that were cathartic to listen to because of their rage now sound like they’ve cleaned up and started going to anger management classes. The sound is too polished and too polite, like they’re serenading an old folks’ home in hopes of crossover Top 40 success.

Thank goodness A Perfect Circle didn’t fall into that trap.
